New Year, New dfir.blog

2019 is here and the new year brings something with it I’ve wanted to do for a while: re-launch my blog! It has a new look and a new home at dfir.blog.

I’ve had some big changes in my life: I became a father and I began working at Google on their Digital Forensics team. I can say I didn’t really know what to expect with either one, but both have turned out to be great 🙂. Now that my life has settled back down a bit, I’m hoping to resume blogging more regularly. This blog will focus on open source forensic tools (since we use and build a lot of them at Google), visualizations, and (of course) web browsers.

I have a few half-finished projects in these areas just sitting around. I’m hoping restarting the blog will help me get them across the finish line and out there for everyone to (hopefully) benefit from. If you have any ideas, questions, or projects of your own dealing with browser forensics or visualizations, I’d love to hear about it. I think there is a lot of room for the industry to mature in these areas, and I’m excited about the future.
